Who is Aries?

Dear Soul, my apologies for leaving this letter to the eleventh hour as Aries powers are bowing out for the year, but it is still relevant.

Here goes I am placing Aries in the spotlight.

Everyone has Aries in their charts and depending upon what sector and what planets are within its sphere decides how much impact this sign has on you. Regardless, everyone has an Aries influence in their charts. Aries indicates where you will find courage and what you are willing to face your fears for. Aries shows us where we will strive to make our own path and not follow what is set before you. Aries is your independence and courage to step outside the box that life and times put you in. It asks you to take a chance and march to the rhythm of your own drum. Aries thinks it is better to do and ask forgiveness later than to not try at all. It is the placement that asks us to embrace our spirit, creativity and go forth into the world. Aries is the understanding that everyone has a right to life and where it is positioned in your chart shows you where you need to push past boundaries and assert yourself in this world.

I AM

Each of the 12 signs can be summarized by an “I” statement. Aries is I AM.

I Am is a simple statement saying so much. Aries is here and you will deal with him or be on your way, it does not matter to him at all. I am here and I have a right to life as much as the next person. I Am …. insert placement in natal chart and planets found enjoying his company to find what it is you are and where you assert yourself as the I AM.

Aries is not waiting for perfection but begins regardless of whether it is ready or not. Aries in this life illustrates where I and you will live life at full throttle, in the best way and doing the best we are all capable of. Aries is the call that requires me (and you) putting ourselves out there into the world. Aries innately knows it is through experience that we learn what life is about and who we are.

Fire

Fire is the first element in the astrological chart. It represents spirit, creativity and is the impetus to get up and live life.

It is from personal desires that the spark of life is born and spirit birthed.

Before form can be cradled in the physical element of Earth and embodied, before we are taught to think and perceive by the element of Air, and before we allow ourselves to be swayed by emotions and feelings allowing moral governance to be born through the element of Water, all must be sparked to life by Fire. We are all conceived from ignition of passion ruled by the elemental passions of Fire.

Hot and dry are the main breakdown of the fire element, allowing us to see that fire’s role is about expanding who and what we are, pushing us to rise to whatever we find ourselves in. Fire is driven to elevate our world and our life. Fire expands the flames of itself as it consumes whatever it comes into contact with. Fire says here I am deal with it or do not for that is on you.

Fire is the spark of creativity, the drive to find fun and joy in life. It is the inspiration to do more to be better. It is our sense of humor and drama.

Fire is impulsive and forceful. Fire can steam roll others into doing what it wants, and it can do it by force or by being inspirational to others inviting them along on the journey of life. Fires enthusiasm is contagious.

Fire is the spirit made real. It is the spark inside us that fans life into being.

Fire gives us the urge to begin, the willingness to continue and the faith to believe in life, who we are and the gift to believe in something greater beyond ourselves.

Cardinal

Cardinal is the pure power that gets the ball rolling. It is the starter motor that fires up an engines power allowing the engine to turn over and the motor to run. It is the first point of touch in our life. The initiatory action to begin; to start. It is the willingness to embrace enterprise to find new ways of doing and being. Its main focus is to begin.

Cardinal is not a power that sustains or prepares for change it is the power that allows a beginning. It is the power that facilitates starting something and is then the permission to move onto something new. It has no need to complete what it starts. It is the endless cycle of beginnings with no need for completion; it is the constant expansion outwards into the world. It starts something and will allow others to move in to take over as it seeks new avenues to start something new once again. What Aries starts will depend upon your own story that is told in your own natal chart that was decided upon the date, time, and place of birth.

Cardinal is related to the first part of a season when it formally moves from the ending to the beginning. It is the raw power we see in nature that allows each season to start anew.

Cardinal is simply the desire to start and begin. Nothing more and nothing less. Aries understands this and fully embraces new beginnings, bringing enthusiasm, passion, and courage.

Polarity — Yang/Masculine

I have mentioned the term Masculine in this heading, please do not be put off by the term of Masculine by confusing this with the labelling of men and women. This term is not related to being male it is a term used to understand the duality of life. Masculine has become an interchangeable word with the ancient word of Yang, using this alternative symbolism helps to make a distinction taking it away from sex or sexuality.

Polarity speaks of the simplest division of nature into two states. Two interdependent states relying on each other to exist and flow endlessly between each other. The first state is about asserting yourself in this world by doing, this is labelled Yang or Masculine. The second polarity is Yin or Feminine and is about response and reactivity of life. The most obvious division of Yin and Yang is day to night. The light of day is observed as a time of doing encouraged by the light of the Sun that helps all things to grow. The counterpart of day is night. Nighttime is where we are seen to be receptive and able to respond to the day that was. The Moons light is a reflected glory of the Sun.

Yang is the ability to do and be. It is the part of the world that does. Aries shines its light by bringing self-esteem to life. It dares to be its unapologetic self in this world, it is created to charge into life; it does not wait to respond, it gives that job to other signs related to the yin polarity. Aries is here to instigate. Yang energy is the driving force that makes us take our first breath in giving us the drive to be alive. Yang is the drive to make life happen for us.

Added Together

When you add fire, cardinal energy and yang together you have formed Aries. What you get is someone who is a self-starter that is willing to chase after life. It is the first step in forming an ego and self-esteem. This sign was created to charge into life and live it fully. All of this can make Aries pushy, domineering, and insensitive but this is what it is built for. If it were not built this way how would Aries instigate and interact with life? Its main purpose is to live large and to keep pushing into the world we live in. They inspire others and show the way forward due to their pure need to live.

Being blessed with how it is made Aries nature is straightforward. It does not tend to beat around the bush it goes for what it wants. It is made to do and ask for forgiveness second (only if Aries has had the thought to reflect on their actions). It is unabashedly and unapologetically itself, if you have a problem with this then that is your problem not theirs.

An Aries is a leader showing new paths and pioneering new trails. It is willing to take risks (mostly because it has not considered the consequences of its actions). This sign is ambitious and enthusiastic to live life. Regardless of any fears it has, and it does have fears. We often forget the courage is the response to fear. Aries is courageous because despite being afraid it has a willingness to act anyway and often action is inspired by their fears.

Aries is confrontive, enjoying a challenge and an argument. Aries are not made for peace, it is made to push, it has a need to be its own being and to do this it needs to create individuality and independence. Aries are here to develop our sense of self-esteem through exploration and the willingness to put ourselves out there in the world to risk embarrassment, rejection for the glory of what could be found.

Aries are the embodiment of the Warrior, Pioneer, Trend Setter, and Dare Devil. Aries are governed by its passions. Aries are restless in nature and always willing to begin something new.

At the heart of Aries lies an optimist. Someone who is willing to live life on the edge, someone who is here to explore and create life. Aries spreads its enthusiasm to others. As we see Aries move through life, we begin to envision what life could be for us if only we would embrace our courage and take a chance. Aries tells us not to wait for perfection, instead it encourages us to act. Aries wants you to be courageous, to act now, doing what expands your self-awareness and helps you to live your best life! Aries wants you to know that you have the right to live unapologetic as yourself because this is the key to living your best life!

Until next time

Rebecca
