The Call of the Time of Pisces
Dear Soul
Dear Soul, yesterday was probably the first time I truly felt the Piscean energy around me as I meditated. I felt buoyed in the womb of life and felt the time of giving, a time of mutability as time gathers itself to move on dissolving itself from what has come before and becoming more ethereal and spiritual than materialistic.
As I sat in contemplation I thought on the symbol of the fish and how they swam in different directions and what this could mean. For me personally it allowed me to see Pisces in a way that I have never done before. I saw how it is the time of returning to the collective knowing we are more than individuality and yet simultaneously it is the pause before we are birthed anew into the sign of Aries. It is the time that calls the hero, a time to prepare and answer the summons to live life in an individualistic way, a time of the self and the right to life.
When I felt more into Pisces, I could feel it was the reaping of the soul as the harvest of all that had come before. A celebration of life. The harvest years of a good life rewarded or the sorrow of the unfulfilled dreams. I felt at the same time it was the seeding of the soul for the life to come. The growth from the seeds that have fallen into the soul from previous harvest. Pisces are the end and yet the beginning of the cycle. I feel it can be compared to Ouroboros, the snake (or dragon) that eats its tale and circles all of earth and life. I feel this is incapsulated in the time of Pisces. The endless and continuous life with no true beginning or ending; just a dissolution before new growth. A time of assimilation of all that has come before and yet to come.
Time to Answer My Dream
I have often wanted to write on the seasons of Astrology as we go through but thought that Aries was always the time to start. With procrastination and fear as my middle name I always missed the opportunity by fretting (Dear Soul, have you ever mourned lost opportunities like me?) but it came to me that I should start at the end, and this is now the time of Pisces. What better time to start writing something I have dreamed of then in the times of Dreaming and Belief.
I find Astrology can be summed into the axiom “as above so below.” What is happening in the celestial heavens is repeated on Earth and what we see on Earth we find are repeating patterns of times before shown to us by placements of celestial bodies (planets) in the heavens. To find out what this means for us we cast what is known as a natal chart. A natal chart is where at the very moment of our birth we take a snapshot of the heavens. At this moment time is frozen and we become the possibility and promise of what is happening above. A natal chart can become our map of life. It is very much like a computer program downloaded into us at birth. When we were born, we became the embodiment of time itself and given gifts from the universe a unique expression in each soul. Everyone has all 12 signs in their charts and each sign will be applied to a different area of life and to know where this sign affects you, you will need a personalized chart. No sign is a one fit for all, but for the purpose of this letter Dear Soul I talk of the Archetype itself and that is Pisces.
Beginning The Exploration
Our ancestors have divided the heavens into 12 sectors and each with their own archetype which is a representation of development and behavior. Pisces is the twelfth archetype. Why would I start here with the last sign? Because it is the time of dissolution and preparation. It is the womb of time itself. It remains not completely knowable lost in idealism, mystical and the sensitive; it is a sign that defines logical understanding and is given expression of abstract and artistic in nature. It is an understanding we are more than just “Me” we belong to a greater community and collective of souls. Also, I start here because it is the womb of life where new life begins, and a soul is given embodiment. Both represent the letting go of what has come before while embracing what could be.
I was thinking Dear Soul we could take this next month to explore the aspects of what the season of Pisces is about. Pisces can be broken down into pieces to understand more fully. Pisces is the name of the finished product, but it has a recipe that makes it so. Pisces is made from the element of water, stirred with the modality of mutability, blessed with the yin (feminine) energy born to be receptive and respond. The alchemist adds the secret of knowing it is made from the cold and wet, allowing it to coalesce and contract on itself gathering what it knows creating union between all. It is given a symbol and associated with mythology and after all this becomes known to us as Pisces. It is this I wish to explore in depth during the season of Pisces.
To know Pisces better and to invoke understanding others in modern times have identified and added archetypal behavior so we can know more about this season in life on a subconscious level. We are told The Mystic, The Dreamer, The Poet, and The Dancer are embodiments of the true nature of Pisces. The statement “I Dream, I Believe” its affirmation. We are now in the time where this is what the Heavens are writing into our current time. What this means is it is a time for idealism to dream of the best life possible for all and to allow what does not serve humanity to dissolve.
Pisces can become disenchanted and desire escapism a time to avoid indulgement in behaviors that are addictive or numb us to life. It is a time to dream of the life to come.
In love and light.
Until the next time Dear Soul
Rebecca
