Maps that Chart Our Lives

Dear Soul, have you ever looked into Astrology, Numerology, Human Design, Enneagram or taken one of the many personality profile quizzes online? Once you have the results are you able to relate to the answer? Do you look at it as the holy grail and guidebook to who you are? Are you able to see yourself in the charts at all? I have poured over my charts over the years thinking it is black and white. I am this person! Only to be left bewildered that my life is not and why does it take so much work if it is who I am? I have come to the realization that it speaks to the possibilities of me. It speaks of natural talents that I can develop or remain challenged by. There are endless ways in which the charts can be interpreted, and it will always come down to your perceptions and choices in how they play out.

In the time I have studied these modalities I have decided they are a handbook to your life, and it is always handy having a guide. I am learning it is making conscious choices by embracing and living your natural talents that make them become part of your life or not. Being born with natural talents does not mean you choose to work with them. I have always thought hard work will win out over natural talents, but nothing beats natural talent that is mastered. My personal experience tells me it will always come down to me and I can choose to do nothing, or I can step up.

The Possibility of Me

When I look back over my life, I can see how it all plays out. I was born for self-expression, and I have my lifetime to master this or allow it to master me. I can quote that the very core of my being I am a 3 in Numerology. For those that do not speak the language of numbers it is the number of joy, expression (in all its formats), it is the child like enthusiasm, and it is the pure joy of life. I have this potential and even though it is my innate nature I need to work hard to embrace it.

In Astrology my ascendant (this means how my chart greeted the world and the lens I look at life) is Gemini, the sign of curiosity and the need to know. The ability to hold dual opinions and look at the world in shades of black and white while trying to navigate not being so polarizing. The need to express and tell stories, the endless need to ask questions.

You can begin to see with just these two things expression and creativity are vital needs to my being, but it does not mean that I use them in my life. It only means I have natural tendencies towards skills related in this particular area of life. I must first be willing to explore becoming the apprentice and from there the journeyman and finally master. Following my chart gives me direction, it does not mean I have to but following my chart opens possibilities that are naturally more aligned with me.

Through my charts I know life will offer me the chance to go inwards to know myself deeply encouraging the search of knowledge. How do I know this? I know my destiny number is 7. A number that seeks wisdom to teach when mastered finding bridges linking knowledge and new understanding. 7 a number that encourages time alone to contemplate. My wisdom seeking is along the esoteric. This also weaves into my sun sign Scorpio. Sun represents our vitality and is the element that feeds us in life. Scorpio is the part of me who scuttles in the dark looking for meaning in life, looking to know who I am through interaction with others. Scorpio is such an inward focusing sign until they find what they need and then they need the ability to stop hiding in the dark and turn towards the light. In the ascension back they bring truth and loyalty to the world from what they have found in the darkness of life.

Human Design tells me I have the possibility to be the mirror to those around me helping them to truly see who they are through my 5/1 (Heretic/Investigator) profile line, the part of the chart helping me to see how I interact with the world around me shaping my experiences. It helps me to see where my strengths and weaknesses lie. The profile helps identify the path and purpose of my life. It is up to me if I embrace this ability or allow it to master me. I am a mirror in life, and I have a need to learn. My problem is the more I learn the more I realize how much is yet to come and will take a lifetime and beyond to master. Knowing I am a mirror allows me (when I work at it) not to take everything personally. Often what others do not like in me is what they struggle to understand and often is an aspect of themselves that they do not acknowledge. In recognizing this it allows me to give other souls grace to learn who they are in their own time.

Dear Soul, all these modalities will give you the possibility of who you are and what you came into this life for, but this does not make this easy! In fact, it is your life’s work to find out how to live them comfortably or if brave how to master them. The charts whether they are astrology natal charts; numerology profiles or human design rave charts (body graphs) are all possibilities and opportunities in life. I find they show me what challenges me most! Just because they are meant to be my innate abilities, skills, talents, challenges, and lessons in life they do not always come easy and why should they? If we mastered our talents in our first breath of life what would be the purpose in living?

Natal Charts in Action

I am a born communicator with a natural curiosity. Most of my life this has caused me endless trouble. I talk too much, gossip when I should not, find that life lacks joy and what about my creativity! I have been told to be quiet so many times I cannot begin to tell you. I have been literally gagged to keep me quiet; I have had a boss who with one look I could see the sound “Shhh’ run across is forehead. Just because my natural inclination in life is expression it does not make me the expert in my skills. I am a communicator, but it is up to me to find a way to challenge this and funnel it into a format that serves me and hopefully in the process you to dear soul.

Another dimension of the 3’s nature is joy and a love of life. I have to work very hard at being and experiencing this. I feel because it is part of me, I am given a wide variety of life experiences including ones where all I want to do is to curl up and cry, being anything but joyful or loving. I need to be able to find the silver linings and love anyway. I am encouraged to find the possibility of joy in everything and create joy in my life (creation another side of the 3). As I do this, I get better at it. There will always be joy in the ability to breathe and to witness a sunset, even on the days when it has been less joyful, and the tears refuse to stop. This does not mean I can never be sad! How can you know joy without having something to compare it to!

There is so much more I could share with you about my personal knowledge of my own chart but I feel I have said enough for one day.

Next Steps in the Evolution of You

In all, when you are looking to find who you are these modalities help immensely but they are not the answer by themselves. You will need an open mind Dear Soul to find what these opportunities mean to you and how you will develop them. The charts can be a map to your life if you are willing to explore what they have to say. No one person will be the same as another even if sharing the same elements such as sun signs! You will need to look at complete charts and see the story they weave; these storylines will be unique and just for you. We cannot take one element like having the same sun sign saying we are the same! The best you can hope for is having empathy and compassion for someone who shares similarities to you. Uniqueness is a blessing in life that enriches the world, and I encourage you to embrace yours.
