Let Them and Let Me
Dear Soul
Let Them. Let Me.
I am her mum.
But she is not me.
It is a lesson — to just let her be.
I am her daughter.
But she is not me.
It is a lesson — to just let Mum be.
I am learning:
There is me.
But she is not you.
You are not me,
So I let you be you.
Once,
I felt the strings pulling me along.
Now,
I know — this is all self-created.
I am the author of my woe.
I will let them.
While I let me.
Maybe now,
I can breathe.
Written by Rebecca Wilson
The above poem came to me after listening to an audible book recommended to me by a friend in which I am now going to buy the physical version of “The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins.”
I just wanted to share with all those that feel that other’s behaviors reflect back on them. It is not true. When we become adults, we take ownership of our lives, and we can no longer blame who we are on someone or something else. Harsh I know but it is the truth and on the flip side we no longer take the blame for how others behave in our lives. This has been a hard lesson for me. This lesson has been creating a freedom for my soul.
Talk to you in my next post.
Take Care in Love and light.
